Our Baby Shower

Hey fam!

Can you believe baby boy will be here in less than 9 weeks!? The first 7 months went SO slow, and now all of a sudden it feels like time is speeding up and he will be here before we know it. This past weekend we had our baby shower, and it made everything feel so much more real. It was such a special day, celebrating and showering little man with love and gifts. We had all of our favorite ladies there, which made me feel so loved. It was a day I’ll never forget!

My mom and Adam’s mom helped plan the event, and since I absolutely love planning parties I was in on it too. We had “mom zooms” where we would all three jump on a zoom call to plan together, phone calls, and text threads going leading up to the big day. I think that was half of the fun, honestly! I’m thankful my mom and mom-in-love get along so well, and that we all have fun together.

Anyways, I wanted to share details about the shower decor and our invites, as well as provide outfit links for you guys in case anyone is looking for inspiration or ideas. So let’s get into it! :)

We sent out our shower invites about 1.5 months in advance, and we ordered them from Basic Invite. I’m so glad we went with this company because the whole process was so simple and straightforward. The website offers SO many different baby shower invite options, and then once you choose one you like you can edit the words, the colors, the fonts, etc. I loved that they were customizable because I wanted to change ours up a bit. I also had been doing lots of Pinterest research to find a theme for the party, and wanted to make sure our invites matched that theme.

Side note- Basic Invite also has tons of other invitations for weddings, save the dates, graduation, birthdays, and basically everything you can imagine. So if you’re looking to find some cute options that you can edit and send all online, definitely check them out. They’re currently offering 15% off everything on their site until the end of this month with code 15FF51.

So, we ended up going with a greenery/outdoorsy theme, and it turned out SO cute! I got most of my ideas off of Pinterest, and I was so happy with the way everything turned out. I’ll show you a picture of what our invite looked like (with some of the text on it blocked out, because…privacy haha).

As you can see, I decided to use the invite as a piece of decor at the party. Like I mentioned, I ended up editing some of the wording, the fonts, and the colors to make it look this way. I also ordered a custom sample of the invite before sending it out to everyone, so I could double check that everything looked okay and was spelled correctly, haha. Then, I just added our guests addresses onto an Excel document and uploaded it onto my order and Basic Invite addressed them all cute for me and had them sent out so I didn’t have to do all of that myself. Such a huge time savor!

Okay, I’ll stop ranting about the invites and go on with the actual baby shower, ha! Once the day finally arrived we set out a tent canopy in our front yard with tables and chairs for our guests to sit (we rented these from Raphael’s). We decorated the tent with a balloon arch, big letter balloons that read “baby” and the most adorable dream catchers that my mom made. Inside the house we set out all of our other decorations, our dessert table, “mom-osa” bar, and lunch items. I loved the way it all turned out! Here are some photos of the decorations below. I will provide links for where I got everything at the bottom of this post :)
